York University Digital Media Program, Lassonde School of Engineering - Project Lead / Technical Artist
A 'cat-and-mouse' horror game created during a course on Game Development. The goal of the project was to create a game that was inspired by a given theme; in our case we ended up with 'Disco'. The project was completed in 5 weeks with a group consisting of 5 other students. I assumed a leadership role for the development of this project and contributed to a wide range of tasks throughout. |
Similar to my previous academic project "Marble Madness Remake", I once again provided my team with a prototype that contained a player controller, camera system, and level building workflow in order to streamline development. I also consistently organized bi-weekly online meetings to guide our progress.
In addition to leading development, I served as our group's technical artist. I developed custom shaders, programmed the dance floor’s light show, and generally handled materials, lighting, post-processing, and audio throughout the project. Furthermore, I managed the integration of assets from our 2D and 3D artists, preparing them as prefabs for placement by our level designer. Beyond my core responsibilities, I also assisted our gameplay programmers with general bug-fixing and performance optimizations. Committed to delivering a polished and cohesive final submission within our tight time constraints, I remained deeply involved in nearly every aspect of development.
