The client requested that their static logo be transformed into a cold, ice-themed music visualizer, with cracks spreading across the ice in response to bass. The application listens to live audio input and renders in real-time.

Process:
  • Logo Preparation – Converted the client's PNG logo into an SVG file using an automated raster-to-vector workflow in ComfyUI.
  • 3D Modeling – Imported the SVG into Autodesk Maya to create a plane mesh with the logo extruded as raised geometry, suitable for Unity.
  • Shader Programming – Authored a custom ice shader using parallax mapping and noise-blended normals, where bass frequencies dynamically blend in cracked patterns across the surface.
  • Tools Programming – Developed a tool to evenly distribute lights into defined polygonal shapes and programmatically step through them, offsetting brightness modifiers in sequence.
  • Audio Integration – Bass amplitude drives the procedural cracking effect on the ice material, particle behavior, and camera shake. Higher frequencies control the peak brightness of the array of distributed lights and modulate their stepping speed.
  • Post-Processing – Applied depth-of-field and HDR bloom to emphasize the reflective, crystalline qualities of the ice.
